The Book of Common Prayer is our worship book; it includes timeless services, prayers, and songs from the earliest days of the Church and also more modern worship that speaks to God anew. At our Church, we have what is known as a Rite I Holy Communion service at 10 am on Sundays. This means that we take communion once a week and that you will hear “thee” and “thou” quite a bit during the service. It is one of the most beautiful and reverential ways to worship God, and though it takes some getting used to, we provide helpful bulletins and the folks sitting next to you will help you if you need it! I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not fall.” (Psalm 16:7-8) On Wednesday evenings at 6 pm, St. Thomas gathers for Evening Prayer. This is a short (15- or 20-minute) worship service in which we read Scripture and pray for our needs and the needs of the world. After Evening Prayer, we enjoy a supper with wine and cheese. This includes the Christmas and Easter seasons, but also other special days, such as the Epiphany, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, All Saints’ Day, and the Feast Day of St. Thomas.
